Elder/Dr Ethel M. Gathers 
BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Ethel M. Gathers is an Associate Pastor @ Faith-Based Institute Church, San Antonio, TX. She is the daughter of share-croppers John & Ida Morale (both deceased), from a family of 12 siblings, reared in the small rural town of Carencro, La., Lafayette Parrish.
She is a product of school-bussing and de-segregation, having been transported by bus to an all-Black high school in Lafayette, La. and was among the first Blacks to integrate an all-white high school in her hometown of Carencro. She graduated from Carencro High School, entered the Air Force immediately upon graduation, specialized in the fields of Communications Security, Military Personnel Management, and Environmental Science. She retired after 20 years of active military service.

She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ while in the military, was called to ministry and ordained. She has taught many Bible Study groups and ministered the Word to countless. Her calling was also recognized abroad, as part of the Lay-Leaders Fellowship, Landstuhl, Germany, where she ministered the Word throughout Europe. Dr. Gathers embarked upon a second career and retired from the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division, Lackland Air Force Base, S.A., TX in February 2020.

Dr. Ethel Gathers is also a published author of two books:
"Church Culture: What Members Dare Not Say" and "The Autobiography of Dr. Ethel Morale Gathers." Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, she has also written the Play, "THE THIRD ROW".

An avid learner, Dr. Gathers holds a Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science Degree in Occupational Education from (then) Southwest TX State University, St Marcos, TX; A Masters of Education Degree with a concentration in Counseling from Boston, University; a Master of Arts Degree in Theology from St. Mary’s University; and a Doctorate of Religious Education from the Bible Believers Christian College & Seminary (BBCCS), Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Gathers holds certifications as School Guidance Counselor, Faith-Based Restorative Counselor, and numerous military and civil service awards and recognitions.

Doctor Ethel Gathers was married 36 years to one husband (Richard). Together they reared four daughters (Nathasha, Chastity, LeKeisha and Alaina). She currently enjoys life with 10 grand-sons, 3 grand-daughters, and 3 great-grandchildren (Aaliyah, Saniyah, and Gianna).
